Jag hade ganska svårt att förstå en sak, hur kommer det sig att de studerar så mycket men näst intill ingen förstår ett ord engelska. Många av de som kunde behärska språket var antingen på besök eller hade bott utomlands, typ USA. Jag ställde frågan till en guide, om varför inte fler lärde sig engelska och fick svaret "varför då?"
Visst, engelska kanske inte är prioritering nummer ett i ett land som Korea. Landet omges av andra nationer som Japan och Kina. Samtidigt så tycker man att det borde finnas ett intresse i att kunna kommunisera västerut, inte bara USA och England. Europa och många i mellanöstern och säkerligen Afrika kan engelska. Vad jag förstår finns det ett förakt mot USA i landet. Amerikanarna har ju en hel del baser och även om sydkoreanerna inte gillar sina grannar i nord så tror jag inte de heller gillar utlåtandet om "axes of evil" från presidenten George W. Bush. Sanningen är ju att nord och syd är ett folk med en gemensam historia och många släktband fast gränsen är hårt kontrollerad från båda håll. Jag frågade guiden om han igentligen inte ville att nord och syd skulle öppnas upp och gå samman likt i Tyskland och dess berlinmur och svaret blev ett kallt nej. Orsaken var att de i nord var fattiga och det finns väl kanske ingen vilja att dela med sig allt förmycket, fast den förra presidenten var givmild med sin solskenspolitik som öppnade upp tanken om en järnvägsförbindelse över gränsen.
Vid mitt besök vid gränsen så gick vi igenom en tunnel byggd av nordkoreansk militär. Man har upptäckt tre tunnlar längs DMZ gränsen och enligt guiden så kunde vardera tunnel transportera 1,000 soldater i timmen vid en invasion. De tror att det finns 18 tunnlar till som man än idag inte har upptäckt.
Fotografering var förbjuden, endast vissa platser tillåtet. En plats var t.ex. 3-4 meter från räcket där man kunde se ut över landskapet. Jag har långa armar och en ganska bra zoom, såhär blev resultatet.
Man har läst i mellanåt att journalister har tagit sig över gränsen precis som att det är jättesvårt och hemligt. Nåväl, vi tänkte åka på en utflykt men det som stoppade oss var att man var tvungen att ansöka om tillstånd 20 dagar innan avfärd. Det finns flera resebyråer, här är t.ex. en från Peking. [1]

I miss south korea very much the girls are so pretty i don't like their men they are controlling their women there i feel pity for the females there! i have seen many korean girls use a very hot towel to clean their face nearly every 30 - 60 min that's why they have clear skin! girls think about their appearance there it is estimated more than 70 percent of the korean girls have done plastic surgery! girls from the age of 14 years old their parents save money to make plastic surgery for their girls appearance is very important for a female in south korea you get better work, better payment, dates, meet more men and marriage ofcourse ect!
No they do not speak english but they got a very interesting rich culture. i liked very much the valley of 1000s buddahs in seoraksan mountain! and seoul is so modern as if they are living in 2050 in the future and we in the caveages! even their bathrooms got computers and display inside the aiport, private bathrooms, on the streeets ect their trains are so modern and really impressing! i wish all those technologies are in Sweden or Lebanon!
South Koreans should be very proud Seoul and mostly all Korea is extremely modern and with technologies that never reached to the west yet!!!
You can only buy Samsung 18 pixels in south korea you can never find it anywhere in the west!! i was comparing airfrance to korean airlines airfrance is so bad and their seats, service, technologies inside their places are so bad and low south korean airline offers every passenger games, videos, music serives on display i watched more than 4 movies inside the airplnes played chess with another passenger even found kent music on my tv display it was very nice and their swedish album i think they knew there are two sweds me and my husband from sweden! the korean girls smiled and greeted us friendly on airfrance only snobbish men with french accent they act chauvinists and dominant which is an attidude i hate in men! and very bad food i got only salads since i ordered veggie and it was very old!
in general south korea was very beautiful, the men there don't like! btw i don't like so much men anyway! maybe my husband and my father in law!! lol
in south korea the food is not eatable there since my mother in law told me they eat dogs so i didnot eat meat at all there it is scary to not know what kind of meat it is and the noodles and veggie soups are fine!
they got a chocolate with the name ghana i still got some of it!!!
