Yousof al-Qaradawi, fatwa mot Gaddafi

I urge the commanders, the officers and the soldiers of the Libyan army not to listen nor obey (Gaddafi's orders). In this case "Hearing and Obeying" is Haram. The prophet pbuh teaches us by saying "Hearing and obeying is an obligation on a person whether one likes the command or not, as long as one is not ordered to disobey (Allah). If he is ordered to disobey (Allah) then there is no such thing as hearing and obeying". Under no circumstance should a creation disobey the creator. If he tells you to attack the civilians with fighter jets. I say no! Attack the one who gave you the orders to attack. I give a fatwa to the police and soldiers, who have the capacity to kill Muammer Al Gaddafi. Whoever can fire a bullet at him and to relieve the country and its people from his oppression, then they must do so.
This man wants to eliminate the people, so I want to protect the people. I give a fatwa to whomever can fire a bullet and rid us of his evil and to rid both Libya and its people from the evil of this man, let them do so. It is not permissible for any officer whether he is an airforce officer or ground officer it is not permissible for them to obey this man by disobeying Allah in an injustice.
